Directional™ II Laser Probe

Talented surgeons want only the best tools in the operating room, and we offer the high quality tools and products used by top retinal surgeons. Our laser probes are no exception. With our extensive line of high-performance laser probes, we continue the tradition of providing surgeons innovative surgical tools that meet infinite expectations.

DIRECTIONAL™ II

The patented Directional™ Laser Probe adjusts from being straight to a curve of 85°. It can remain straight when entering the eye, eliminating the risk of bumping the natural lens, and also providing the ability to work around the posterior pole when applying laser treatment. Its ability to curve is extremely beneficial when the surgeon needs to reach the periphery of the eye.

The Directional™ II Laser Probe is a significant improvement on the original Directional™ Laser Probe and incorporates years of feedback from the original design. These improvements include an ergonomic, color-coded handle that emulates the Pinnacle 360°™ instrument line. In addition, it incorporates significant improvements on the mechanism responsible for adjusting the fiber from straight to curve, converting it to a more natural roller mechanism to ensure a smooth actuation. With this, surgeons are able to remove pressure from the roller mechanism with confidence that the device will not adjust on its own due to the intraocular pressure.

ILLUMINATED DIRECTIONAL™ II

Who says you can’t take a great idea and make it even better? Our brightest illuminated laser probe ever now comes with the popular directional capabilities of our Directional™ II Laser Probe. Perform your own scleral depression while reaching the extreme periphery with the Illuminated Directional™ II.

  • Compatible with most modern, ophthalmic light sources.

  • Midfield illumination pattern.

FLEXIBLE TAPERED ILLUMINATED

As with all Flexible Tapered products, this probe features a straight, stainless steel shaft that transitions to a curved, nitinol tip. The hybrid design allows for a rigid shaft for steering the eye while also providing a flexible tip to aid with insertion and extraction. Additional rigidity is supplied in the form of a 2.5mm bushing at the shaft/handle junction.

The laser fiber is terminated with the direct connect back end while the illumination fiber is terminated with the standard PHOTON™ multiport connector. Through the use of illumination adapters, the probe is compatible with alternative light sources including the B and L Stellaris PC®

Illumination output and output angle, as well as accessibility to the peripheral retina, are some of the more critical elements of a curved, illuminated laser probe.
