Ophthalmic Viscoelastic Device (OVD)

A highly-viscous, cohesive OVD (Ophthalmic Viscoelastic Device) Better coating abilities and therefore better protection of the endothelium during phacoemulsification

  • Smooth, more controlled unfolding of the IOL in the capsular bag.

  • This may result in a lower increase in postoperative corneal thickness and a lower decrease in postoperative ECD.

Key Features & Benefits

  1. Comfortable retention in the AC and capsular bag.

  2. Allows for a clear view of the surgical field during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the eye.

  3. Elasticity perfectly suitable for IOL implantation.

  4. Does not contain animal proteins.

  5. Can easily be removed after surgery.

Progress in cataract surgery

Cataracts are treated by surgically removing the cataract and implanting an artificial replacement called an intraocular lens (IOL). Recent advances in the cataract surgery procedure have gradually reduced the size of the incisions needed for surgery from 12mm to 1.4mm, making it safer and less invasive
