Akreos AO Intraocular Lens

akreos-ao

The Akreos Advanced Optics (AO) lens was designed by Bausch + Lomb for excellent stability and excellent  vision quality.

Bausch + Lomb's Akreos Adapt AO lens is the world's first aspheric acrylic IOL with aberration neutrality, because the aberrations present in the eye differ from person to person. Unlike other IOLs, it does not add further aberrations to the patient's eye. This leaves the slight, naturally occurring positive aberration from the cornea, providing better depth of field.

Better Vision for More People

  • The Akreos Adapt AO is designed to be free of spherical aberration.
  • Optical performance is unaffected by optical or anatomical decentration or by pupil size due to uniform centre-to-edge power.1
  • More predictable and repeatable refractive outcomes can be expected with a broader patient population.

Aberration-Free Design Helps to Enhance Depth of Field

  • The Akreos Adapt AO maintains the natural positive spherical aberrations compared to aspheric aberrated IOLs.
  • With its aberration-free design, Akreos Adapt AO helps to significantly improve depth of field in comparison to an aspheric aberrated IOL.

Optimised Effectiveness Against PCO

The Akreos Adapt AO Lens benefits from the unique Square-Edge Technology and a 360° posterior barrier, both features minimising cell migration following implantation.

Fully Single Use Injection System

The Akreos Adapt AO can be injected through the Hydroport-SI single use injector system, enabling in-the-bag implantation of the lens through a 2.8mm phaco incision.
